Most of the time these sort of issues are caused by a bad ground somewhere. You live where they salt the roads, that exacerbates the ground issues.

Any particular grounds I should look for? I live in Michigan so definitely have a lot of salt.

I have a new to me 08 1500 GMC and the cruise control works intermittently...… what I have found is if I place the toe of my boot behind the brake pedal pull it towards me just one time the cruise control will set and work fine until I use the brakes again. I'm guessing after 192000 mile the brake light switch is a little weak and needs to be replaced.

So I replaced the wheel bearing and my cruise control started working again for about 3 days. Now it doesn’t work again. What should I do? Please someone I have been without cruise control for a year and a half.

Check with a good code reader and make sure there are no codes lurking.

Do you have LEDs in your 3rd brake light? My truck lost cruise control when I put LEDs in the 3rd brake light, when I removed the LEDs functionality was restored.

I check with my efi love didn’t see anything.
Went to the 2 auto parts stores they found an old coat that passes now for the right wheel sensor.

As for the led I have a normal box on the truck now. And the third light I don’t have led but it need to look at it it doesn’t seem to work like it should.

my cruise started working. then I got an alignment and it quit working.

After you're underway and have used the brakes several times, have you checked to see if the pedal is not returning fully to the top?

Like I said my cruise started working. then I got an alignment and it quit working.
I looked back and didn't see a mention about an alignment.
Where was that in the timeline, before or after the hub replace?

....an old coat that passes now for the right wheel sensor.
:rofl
I always install NEW coats...old or reman coats, never last. :grin2:

You may have your culprit....or just coincidence.
Perhaps there's some chafing on those sensor wires?
