I'm a newbie and looking for info if you please?

First time owner of a deisel. 05 LLY. It pulls my 13K 5th wheel and does a great job so far. The only thing is at times my tranny temp goes to 230-235dgs. I want to put a deep pan on and change to transynd. What is best way to do this and insure that all Fluid is changed out???:help

For the Deep Pan I would recommend Mag Hytec. For the fluid, Amsoil Torque Drive is about 1/2 the cost of Transynd and carries the same TES-295 Certification.

To get the most fluid out you will want to drop the pan, disconnect the cooler lines, use compressed air to blow out the cooler lines. Drop the spin on filter and let it drain down. You can take loose the Valve body to allow the transmission body to drain down. Retorque those to 9ft lbs.

This should get the largest amount of the fluid out.

With the TES-295 fluids Allison recommends 150K fluid changes. Spin on filter changes are the same as stock. Internal filter is changed at overhaul, but you can change it while you have the pad down if you like.

Id get a deeper pan and change it yourself. Then take it to a shop and get a trany flush. They disconnect the cooler lines and connect then to a machine. Then pump new fluid through till all the old fluid is out. :D

Hey thanks a bunch for all the straight forward info guys. However, just this AM I took it to a tranny shop and they disconnected the return line from the cooler and crank eng, catch fluid, fill tranny, crank eng, catch fluid etc.etc..
Stop eng before it runs dry of course and fill.

Keep it safe..........
