Hey guys. I'm gonna attempt to build a front bumper for my 2006 GMC 2500HD. I got this design from a guy on the Pirate4x4 website. He has been nice enough to give me the drawings and talk to me on the phone a few times about changes he would do and such if he did it again. So mine will be alittle different but not alot. I already took off my old bumper and sold it. I've got the steel. And hopefully tomorrow the fab shop will water jet the pieces and bend them. So this weekend I can do some welding. Here are some pics of the bumper I'm modeling mine after. I was trying to find something that didn't stick out alot. As of right now I have about $80 in materials. I'm getting charged $125 for the FAB shop to cut and bend all the pieces. So I should end up with around $200 total in the bumper before finish. I'm excited.

I am assuming you are sending out a 2-D drawing type file. If so check to see if you can save it as a dxf file. You should be able to. This is a general drawing type file that almost any drawing software should be able to open.

For mine, I spent around $150 just on steel. Used about 2/3 of a 4x8 sheet

I had about 80 dollars in the materials. I bought a 4' x 4' piece of 1/8" steel. Then for another 75 a local shop water jetted the pieces out for me. For another 50 they bent the pieces in shape. Then I just had to do the final fitting and welding.

hey guys, is it illegal to run 4 fog lights at the same time?

There should be plenty of room behind the bumper for a winch. The only problem would be license plate placement. Right now, all I have is a set of cardboard templates

Yea I was thinking I could keep that center section out and put the winch there and just 2 bolts underneath for the plate and maybe bend it down to form to the bumper lines. How long befor you could get dementions out you think???

Just emailed the drawing files for my bumper to the following. Sorry it took so long. Been alittle busy. Haven't gotten on here in awhile.

Great looking bumper! I like the "slim" design compared to other aftermarket brands that just give the truck a fat lower lip look. if you get a chance, i'd love your drawings/files... my email is gazda012@umn.edu

thanks
looks great could i get the plans as well. steverichter01@yahoo.com
