This is a record for me - 2021 2500 HD Custom with a torn inner CV boot slinging grease at 7000 miles. A couple days ago I heard something kick up under the floor board of the truck while at highway speed, but never saw anything meaningful come out the back as I checked the mirror.
Climbed under the truck last night in the garage to peak around, as the first tire rotation and oil change are on the menu for the weekend. The passenger side inner boot took the hit apparently from the road debris, as evident by the grease on the underside.
I looked at YouTube but did not see any videos for the 2020+ models regarding axle shaft replacement. Anyone know if the procedure is as easy as the LMLs and other HD platforms? My 2012 needed new front axle seals early on as they both weeped - I replaced them myself easily, undoing the axle shaft nut and flange bolts at the inner stub shaft allows the axle to be pulled toward the center line of the truck without any disassembly of the suspension or steering. Hoping the 2020+ model years are similar.
