Has anyone installed a dual alt kit on their rig? I'm doin it to mine sometime in the near future and am wondering what anyone else has done. Pitstop had a kit with dual 160A clutched alternators that I'm lookin at. Any suggestions???

haha. Now i'm lookin at the 145a clutched kit. just usin the secong alt to carge up the aux bat and help out with the big winch and lights when needed. I really wanna figure out the DIY!!

i just installed a 250 amp Alt in my truck, that way i can install the Mitusa pump up front. was only $109 Brand Newoff ebay.

I want to do this also, why are the part numbers for the OEM bracket and belt so hard to come by? Is there a wiring harness available from the dealer? Someone has to have this info I would think.

What is the difference between a standard and a clutched alternator? Why would a clutched unit be needed over a standard unit?
