LZO came to the pickups for the 2023 model year

The original 3.0 was the LM2.
It was used in both pickups, and full size SUV.

Pickups changed to the newer 3.0 -- the LZO, for 2023 model.

For the SUV, the change from LM2 to LZO was delayed -- along with the SUV 'refresh', until the 2025 model year.

The LZO has been officially announced/released for 2025 SUV.
It is labelled as 'late availability' ... without explanation.
It shows as available on all trims of Yukon/Yukon XL, and all on 'Burb/Tahoe except the LS and commercial (1FL and 1LS).

LZO has a bunch of upgrades from LM2

Doesn’t help that the dealers at least here in Canada only bring the Yukon(XL) in the highest trim package. I have yet to see one of them for under 80k usd
That’ll drive some sales down. Put that fuel efficient motor in a trim level a family of 4 can actually afford.
It’s different than trucks where guys use them to work. People are buying these SUVs for their families and to commute
What area are you in?
I'm in SW Ont.
I wonder if it's a regional thing?

I always figured the crewcab short box quickly became popular (20 years ago) because it is cheaper than a full size suv.

Dealer near me has 10 Yukon XL's. None of the highest trim (Denali Ultimate)
2 SLE -- both 3.0
3 SLT -- 1 - 5.3; 2 - 3.0
2 AT4 -- both 6.2
3 Denali -- 1 - 6.2; 2 - 3.0
0 Denali Ultimate

2 Yukon
Both AT4, 1 is 6.2 one is 3.0
Also have 2 Tahoe 1 - 3.0; 1 - 5.3

They have about 160 pickups - mostly 1500.

I have a 22 2500 AT4, coming from an 03 PSD with shorter wheelbase. The F250 with suicide doors has a slightly shorter cab and bed. I do like my 2500 full 4 door but have often thought a shorter box would help with backing. It would be nice if GM offered the 2500 with the 1500 box, better backing and shorter turning radius. I don't think I would miss the extra length and backing a 30' camper into tight spaces would be easier. Perhaps pair the 3.0L with the shorter box?
Does your AT4 have the 8ft box or the 6.8ft?
