Does This Sound Like Ball Joints Are Bad?

Over the weekend I started noticing this noise in my front end. I was going through a parking garage that had big speed bumps in it. I first noticed it turning the corner in the garage, then as I went over each speed bump it made the noise. Its coming from the drivers side, and its a squeak. Once I got home, I listened alittle closer. With the truck in park and running, if I turn the steering wheel very slowly in each direction you can hear the squeak, and I also stood outside the truck on my step tubes and jumped up and down rocking the truck, and each time it went up and down you could hear the noise. My buddy seemed to think it sounded like the upper ball joint. I have an extended warranty on the truck that says it covers those, but.... I'm afraid that they'll only replace the one bad one. If I'm into it, I'd kinda like to replace every single one of them so I know they are all fresh. Just looking for alittle insight on this!

Thanks,

Kyle

To test ball joints you jack the truck up and check for up and down play in the front wheels. I don't know about them specifically making noise, could just be control arm bushings.

It could be the wheel bearings, both of mine went bad and it sounded like a WW2 tank every time I went around a corner, sqeaked like a bastard.

It doesn't make much noise when the truck is moving and turning. Only when moving straight and going over a speedbump allowing the up/down movement of the front end. The only time I heard it squeak when turning the steering wheel was when I was parked, idleing and turning the wheel from lock to lock. And when doing that it was not all that loud. Like I say, it makes the most noise when I'm parking and rocking the truck while standing on my step bars.

Mine had a pretty bad squeak when I would go over speed bumps slow or turn at slow speeds. It would even squeak when I got out of the truck which made me feel like a fatass. Lol after I did all my front end work which included ball joints and wheels bearings, it stopped. But my guess would be ball joints

How long ago since you greased the,?
My one lower one did that, wouldn't take grease anymore so I replaced it, been good since.
Just keep em greased up regularly

the usual thing I get with upper joints going out is I start hearing a popping sound when backing out of parking spots, usually with the wheel turned hard one direction or the other. Squeaking also is a sign as is wandering down the road, kicking one direction or the other when you hit a bump at speed, general unpredictability on a bumpy road and strange tire wear.
