I been trying to find a performace downpipe for my 03 LB7 Duramax and not really finding much about it. Woulding if anyone knew where maybe i can find one for my truck i looking at upgrading to a 5inch and want to get a downpipe also if it will help with the truck. Is it even worth getting a aftermarket downpipe?

Thanks! :drink :gearjamin

Stock downpipes get really clogged up from what I understand and choke the engine down. From the pictures I've seen and the downpipe I bought (waiting for warmer weather to put it on) I would say Diamond Eye has about the best quality downpipe out there. You should have put this in the vendor request forum. Plenty on here will be glad to help out. Tyler at MeyerPerformance just left for the NHRDA races this weekend and won't be back til next week. I'm sure someone was left behind to mind the store though. Hope this helps.

I think MBRP is supposed to have one coming out sometime soon. I'd expect it to be priced simliar to the LLY and newer downpipe, but they haven't released much info on it, let alone the price.

Search threads for it... there's a guy named Rick that has a couple of performance downpipes, up pipes, exhaust manifolds, and intake horns. They are all designed and built in his shop, and he has testers that run the stuff before he sells it. He's on here somewhere in a thread where he's posted his downpipes. They are pricey, but flow a lot.

I've always been told that firewall clearance was the problem with aftermarket downpipes.

How much of a PITA is changing out the downpipe?

On the 05 its about a 2 hour job. Its more of a hassle to remove the stock one.
So that's about 3 hours and maybe 15 minutes of "WTF I QUIT" for me... not too bad.
