I have an '06 Chevy Duramax 2500, automatic transmission. This my work truck and in my line of work FWD is ABSOLUTELY VITAL.... this is why it qualifies for the 911 thread, thanks everyone in advance.

The truck has a manual xfer case shifter, verses the electronic switch on the dash. Shift lever moves naturally, and low range engages. Front end does not engage, therefore FWD is inop.

Any ideas? Thanks again!!

It's probably your actuator on your front diff

Yes, most likely actuator-- common problem.

You can remove it fairly easy leave it hanging put it in 4wd if it doesn't engage then that's it... Also if it goes in 4lo and drives in 4lo (geared down ) but the front still isn't engaging.. Then that's the prob
