More likely head gasket 😰

I’ve got 2002 duramax building high coolant pressure. Can an faulty egr cooler cause this.
The EGR cooler in CA LB7s is of course connected to the cooling system but I don’t recall reading of that being a common cause of high coolant pressure (and by that, you mean hard hoses?)

A simple cooling system pressure test should help rule out the EGR cooler as there would be sounds of leakage into that unit if it is defective.

Use search for head gasket failure diagnosis.
