I'm going to be installing an egt probe and was wondering if when I take the manifold off I have to put a new gasket on or is the one on it reusable?

If you take it off yes replace the gasket. Or you can drill and tap the manifold with it on the truck but just have the truck running so all of the shaving get blown out.

I have done a few with the truck running and it's fine. It's a lot faster. Yea you will have to replace both gasket

I just used a one inch bit and jb welded it in :D

Nahhhhh, I did it running too, baby pilot hole, medium, full size... Now there is speculation of a big f**k up... If you break that bit off while it's running, prepare for a bad day...... If it's not running, less of a bad day... Some people say use grease, I didn't because the moment the bit breaks through, the last thing I wanted was hot fast moving air sucking the shavings off the tip.

X2 I center punched it and only drill with 2 bits I won't drill a small pilot hole just for the fact of breaking one off and have to mess around getting it out

I reused both gaskets when I had the inside of the manifolds ported, added an LML manifold and tapped for EGT probes, I did put a light coat of copper silicone on them, no leaks to date after about a 1-1/2 years...

That worked for you mike?
I did the same thing on my truck when I swapped turbos, used the old gaskets used the sealant torqued everything up and and half the gaskets leaked..

Remember you have to tap it while the truck is running as well!!

Yessir sure did. IMO there's no reason to take it off. It worked so well to drill and tap with it running that no reason to waste time pulling it off and put new gaskets in. Took it for a test drive an 2 hours ago and everything worked great!
