I have an 01 duramax that I just put an edge box on and I am looking to upgrade my exhaust.... I am looking for a system with a loud whistle I have heard a few on the internet but the post never show what system they are running. I have done a lil research into John Kennedy, HOG, and AFE if anyone has one of these or another system some info would be greatly appreciated.... THANKS

If you want an all out loud system....you can't beat straight pipe especially on an LB7. Of course there are 2 ways to do that.....in stock 3.5" and going 4" with a muffler delete pipe. I have the MBRP system and it is pretty mellow compaired to the straight pipe stock system I had before. My buddy says he can hear the turbo spool up better with it (MBRP). I am still tossing around getting the muffler delete pipe though.

While i would upgrade the exhaust, myself i like the mbrp stuff, the afe is decent quality in my own experience it takes a little more tweaking to get it to fit right! But to get the most turbo whistle i would look into a true open air intake(not a sealed type intake)!

You thread is talking about exhaust but these HOG, and AFE are intakes or thats what i visulize when I hear the names. DFo they have exhaust? They(intakes) might help with the whistle depending on who you talk with. There are no preformance pros to them so I wouldnt bother. I straight pipe will heve alot a whistle. Typically speaking duals have les whistle than a single pipe. If you really wanna here it go with stacks.

Hog exhaust have been around awhile, AFE is rather new to the game. A shorter exhaust will give you more whistle, but IMO a Open filter type intake will be the best bet. AFter market intakes have not proven any hp gains untill you near 500rwhp or more!

I have just added one but i modified it a bit because i felt it needed it

Going to hit the rollers on the 25th hoping for 500hp but i think i'll need to travel to california to hit that number !

Thanks for the advie I ordered a five inch system with no muffler and an stage two magnum force afe intake so hopefuly the combination with the edge box is gonna sound pretty kick ass!!!!
