Ext. Cab or Crew Cab?

I have an extended cab, short bed, that I am used to driving. I'm looking for a duramax and I'm not sure whether to get a crew cab or an extended cab. I don't really need the extra room of the crew cab, but it would be nice to open the back doors without opening the front doors first. I haven't heard anything about people complaining about the turning radius of a crew cab or how hard it is to park in tight places. The turning radius and difficultly of parking are the only things that make me hesitant to buy a crew cab.
Can I hear some opinions on crew cabs vs. ext cabs, and the turning radius?
Would I have a noticeable difference in driving a crew cab after driving an ext cab for so long?

Thanks!:thumb

CC/SB has a tighter radius than an EC/LB. A CC/LB......well its a yacht. So it really depends on the bed length you want.

I did not have any problems going from a ext cab short bed to a crew cab short bed, I had the ext cab for 11 years. I wanted a lwb crew but could not find one in a good color when I was looking.

You want the crew. been there done that. huge mistake. especially if you want anyone to ride with you ever or plan on expanding the family, or just want to have some fun in the backseat. get the crew and be done. also it's easier to sell a CC if you ever had to

Forgot to mention, I want a short bed. No need for a long bed.

And how much would the MPG be affected by a crew vs. ext since a crew is bigger and heavier?

Its called Bus parking. or thats what me and the wife call it. I about lost my head when I explained to her how the exercise would be good for her walking from the end of the lot.
Ok so I should think some stuff instead of saying it. If you learn to back in you can put it anywhere you want..

I have a ec/sb and wish I had a CC. Getting a 3 yr old in and out everyday gets old. And the extra roomwould come in handy with friends and family. My next will be a CC/LB!!!!

CCSB is what you want (I got one :D) It's nice when me and my buddies head to lunch, we can all jump in instead of one waiting for the other to open the door...I also like being able to fold up the seats and throw bigger shit in the back to keep dry. On a dry run out to work, I average 20-21mpg's and that's weighing in at 9200lbs :thumb It's nice to not be a land yacht long-bed! I can turn around without making it a 3-point and park in normal vehicle parking spaces.

Edit: I'm also 6'4 so the extra room helps!

My last two trucks have been ECSBs. I really wish I had waited and gotten a crew cab. I think they look better, they have a lot more room, and the turning radius/mileage difference will be insignificant.

^^^X2^^^
I had a crew half ton and sold it and bought my ECSB only because the price was right I really wanted a crew cab and now I REALLY know why

I had a extended cab for 5 years up till I got this crew cab both with the standard short box. I will never go back to just the extended cab again. I cannot say much about fuel mpgs or turning since the last truck was a half ton but again do yourself the favor and get the crew cab and not look back or look back at how much happier your passengers are.

I'm gonna be a dick and say extended cab. Reason being. I used to be the designated driver, crew cab having good guy. That shit got OLD real quick. An extended cab does the same job without the wanton for you as the designated driver. If you love being that and find happiness thereof, then by all means, be the crew cab driver.

Actually I plow with a few crew cab trucks and I get all the shitty areas because "your trucks smaller"

Well sure. That's always an option. Funny thing is, I used to drive home like 20 people including the folks in my bed and cab. I used to make off with at least $200 profit after fueling up. It was funny. I just hope the masses realize that.

Yeah, you'll think that shit all the until there are like 7-10 motherfuckers that want a ride to the fuckin' boonhills. Those assholes never have cash. Just remember that. Every ******* you pull out of a ditch has no cash. None. I made fuck all during the South's big snow snowstorm for 2011. Nothing. In the minus for fuel if you wanna be a dick about it.
