Ok all, I have been having issues with trailer lights. Found chaffed wires behind the factory plug and I'm replacing the plug itself since it starting to look worn. Question is this. I have an extra wire that looks like it was just cut off, but no place for it to go int he 7 pin plug. Any ideas

It's probably the third (high mount) brake light wire. If it is, this comes separate from the factory not installed in the connector, but is with the harness going to the plug. What color is the wire?

It's blue. What exactly is the (high mount)?

Theres no plug on it? Its just cut? You could get a test light and see what it for. I heard they use to add a wire incase someone added a truck cap so they could put on a 3rd brake light
