So i was leaving school going about 20 in a school zone when a tahoe backed out and it was too late for me to stop. If anyone could give me any advice, it would really help me out. Here is the damage:
I feel for ya.......and I know how you feel.
one day last week I was driving along and heard a thud, absolutly nobody around or anything.....then this last sun wifes sitting on the porch and ask me what I'd hit?????:cookoo[1]:
She points out a decent size dent on the bed right behind the rt rear tire. j..I guess I hit something and it got kicked up into the bed
Have your insurance co handle it. If the other driver was backing, they were to yield. Your insurance co should fix your truck, and go-after the other drivers' co for reimbursement. This is, if you have a good insurance co/agent.
This is the reason why I wouldn't trade my bumper for anything!
Sucks to hear man, sorry about everything. Good news is you could probably get the insurance money to cover an aftermarket bumper when reinstalling parts..
Sorry, ive been on the phone with the ins company. I have to go get an inspection tomorrow so they can tell me how much i'm going to be getting. Big bumper is going on forsure. Ill keep yall updated. THis really blows. I got his insurance and stuff though, so hopefully I can get her on the road again soon.
Im taking it to a chevy collision center right after i leave the inspection place to get a second quote. I am going to be making sure i get the payout that is equivalent to OEM GM parts.
It happens to the best us of. I recently had a accident but I ended up putting the stock bumper back on for now. A ranch hand is going on later though.
So after I have my inspections and settle on the amount I'm going to get for repairs, do I take it to my body shop and tell them to fix the dents/paint scrapes and issues and then use the left over money to purchase the bumper and install it? I'm really not sure how the payout works... Do I just get a check? Or do they make sure I install oem parts? Yalls input would be awesome..
