So I have a 2004.5 gmc 2500hd with a 6in RC lift on it. I was just under to change my Transfer case fluid when I noticed the front driveshaft is what looks like pulled out if the front of the transfer case. The boot isn't covering the splines all the way. And when i shift into gear i can hear s slight clinking sound. My U joints are good and I gave the shaft a shake up and down and it sounds the same. Any idea why it's looking pulled forward
Lift kits don't address drive shaft length... be it full size or jeep etc... Full size trucks are not affected as much (compared to a jeep) due to the DS length, but the front shaft being shorter will be affected more...
As you raise the suspension, the angle and length must increase to the front axle assembly...
