Drove a 09 Lmm today, i got to say im a cummins fan, but i loved the way that lmm ran, its bran new 300 miles. I'm wondering about chips/programmers, an intake and exhaust.

chip/programmer: has anyone tried the H&S Black Maxx for lmm howd you like it howd it perform? what about edge and banks, or even efi or ppe. But which one is gonna be the most prone to void my warranty. I've thought about buying another ecm but that would be costly i assume? Any suggestions comments?

Next i want a intake, i like afe's system comments?

Exhaust, remove or dont remove dpf, recomendations on exhaust system.

Now what can i expect for a slightly modded lmm power wise? And relative 1/4 times? will i need a airdog/fass, shift kit for the alison?

And what can i expect for a voided warranty how likely is it an what not, what if i was to get a 2nd ecm?

oh man, i don't even know where to begin.

no one runs H&S here. it's EFIlive/PPE/Edge/Banks. '

as far as the warranty, it's all up to how cool your dealer is. DPF removal is a very popular item with the members that post here.

Intakes are semi-useless.... there is money better spent elsewhere. IMO. I hear where you're coming from, my 96 12valve with exhaust and an AFE intake was awesome.

LMM's have made 500whp with a tuner/lift pump/tranny build.

We have sold a few H&S Blackmaxx tuners and we haven't had any complaints about them.

A 2nd ECM won't really help out in anyway. They can tell that the data the ECM records is not what it should be.

I highly recommend a DPF delete, it is the only way to really gain power and mileage.

If you have any questions please let me know, I have a LMM and would be happy to help find what best suits your needs.

For a programmer, I would look at the Edge Evolution Race, CS Race, or CTS Race. They have excellent programming and include a monitor with gauges, safety features, etc. Pair that with a full MBRP exhaust and you have an excellent package. AFE makes a decent intake, but I recommend looking at S&B instead. it is a better kit, and cheaper.

If you have any questions, feel free to give me a holler.

We have always gotten good reviews from H&S Black Maxx buyers. Edge, PPE and Quadzilla buyers have great reviews as well. Let us know if we can help you out!

will removal of the dpf void the warranty in any way? Also I personally think a egr blocker is the way to go, that im sure wouldnt help the warranty issue? I honestly like the H&S setup alot, i just like the way it looks and all, but the edge race cts is very interesting. Both the edge and h&s are plug in style chips correct? I've read that they are a little harder to pick up for warranty issues, wouldn't a 2nd ecm that wasnt used while the truck had a power adder on it have the same data an not be effected or be able to tell that a power adder was on the truck?

The H&S and CTS Race both reprogram the ECM. So unfortunately they will be very easy for the dealer to detect.

A 2nd ECM is really got going to be any different either. They can see the information does not match up with the miles on the truck. The most common is regen count.

Either the H&S or CTS Race would be a great choice. If you have any questions I can help with feel free to ask.

Yes, unfortunately tampering with any of the emissions equipment (DPF, EGR) on these trucks will void the factory warranty. Some dealerships I have heard will only void your warraanty for emissions equipment, while others will actually void the warranty on the whole truck and flag it. Other dealerships are nice and let it slide. Usually that only works when you have a friend on the inside.

It all depends on the dealer. Most are willing to look the other way. Technically though, it is illegal to remove or tamper with emissions equipment though unless its solely used for off-road.

The Edge units are plug and play with the exception of the pyro probe which if you want to use it, will need to be drilled/tapped into the exhaust manifold.

So it is ok to pollute the air if doing it off-road? :)

This is frequently misunderstood. The CAA applies to all certified vehicles off the assembly line. Application is not relevant, IIRC.
