I am wanting to add a fuel cooler between my air dog and engine anybody got any ideals on a good cooler to buy

NO, there is one from the engine to the fuel tank-- it cools the unused fuel before it is dumped in the tank.

I am wanting to cool it again before it get to the engine. The reason is i have been data logging and when my fuel temp hits 174 degrees it trips the p0087 code so i want to try to cool it down to see what happens

That's quite hot and as you've seen when the ECM sees fuel that is too warm it will degrade engine performance as a result. It sounds like you may have another issue at hand here because the fuel shouldn't be more than 40 degrees over ambient air temps. Start making sure you aren't losing rail pressure somehow (leaking FPRV, excessive injector fuel return or bad balance rates, worn out CP3, etc) which casues the fuel to heat up significantly. Then also make sure your stock fuel cooler isn't plugged up with debris (remove the cooler, clean then reinstall). Make sure your fuel filters are also in good shape and then check your fuel temps again.

Can you give me some more info on your cooler like where to buy... and i saw on another site were you was going to replaced the factory to..
I am thinking about putting mine on the frame and make a skid plate to protect it from road debris

I had a temp gauge in the factory fuel filter. No lift pump, stock and oe rail plug, and tuned. As the fuel got above 100 while towing it liked to throw 87's.

I changed the two lines into and out of the filter, and added the cooler. Fuel goes out of filter thru cooler and into engine. Also put the temp sensors before and after cooler. Haven't had an 87 since and its been over 100,000 miles iirc.

On the eway i only see a few degrees difference in pre/post cooler temps. May be air cooling the sensors the same Idk. Sitting in traffic I've seen 35 degrees dif pre/post cooler.

Edit - also been in air temps as low as -27f with no fueling issues with the extra fuel cooler and not running the grille block either.
