Fuel filter Micron rating

I think your making too much out of a fuel filter rating. You will actually have more gelling problems with a lower micron rated fuel filter anyway. The most important rating is the oil filter's micron rating. That will be the difference on internal wear over time. Good that your asking questions though thats how you take care of your investment. :drink

I stay OEM for fuel and air, the engine is to finicky to jack with those. You can do much better for oil filters though, running Mobil 1 oil filter.
Another good oil filter is the Amsoil Eao full synthetic filter. 98% efficient at 15 microns.

Gen1 Thanks that made it a little more clearer and explains in more detail how the ratings work. I will rearrange my post a little to include the beta part. I was trying not get too technical for the lamen and new diesel owners that are researching and don't know squat about the beta ratios and how they are aquired but it is a relevant to the story.
