No details, or VIN‘s can anyone shed some additional info?

The build date should also be on the sticker on your door jamb I thought. The one with the QR code that you can scan. If you do that, you can also see all your RPO codes.

Took down my post, just saw your other info. That really sucks.

NF22 on my VIN and a build date of 01/22 - Haven't received any recall notices or info so far. I have about 1300 miles on the odometer.

Found this same number on a couple places on the backside and under the engine. Not quite sure how to go about deciphering it....julian date?

I know there's going to be a lot of frustrated people on here. The truth is, GM is doing the right thing.
I had a 2009 Subaru Legacy GT Limited with the 2.5L turbo motor. Subaru knew they had a problem with the engine, and had a stop sale order after I bought the car. The engine spun a bearing on the NJ turnpike an hour away from home. Yes, they fixed it in the end, but it still stranded me requiring a tow.

So, as I said in my Easter posting, keep the big picture in mind. Be thankful they're taking the truck back before it leaves you on the side of the road with your family and trailer in tow in the middle of nowhere.
Yes it is a bad situation to wait months for a truck to be ripped away, but I sincerely doubt any of you guys with families want to be sitting on a highway with 18 wheelers flying past at 70-80mph.

I disagree. crushing the truck is stupid. just replace the motor and give it back

Fair point @JonM21Ltz ,

I guess everyone has different levels of acceptance. If it were me, I'd be much happier with a new truck.

To each their own I guess. I'm not trying to be a huge ass, just trying to relay a personal experience where a company (Subaru) wasn't proactive about the problem. They waited until people's engine's went then cleaned up the mess afterwards.

I'm sure this will continue to be hotly debated. Maybe I'm just naive, but I'm looking at it from a glass half full perspective.

You mean just like GM did with the CP4 pump issue? ROTFL! I just talked to a fellow camper a couple days ago with a low mile 2016 Dmax that is still under factory warranty. I bet GM will be glad when the last CP4 truck warranty expires.

Good day Viper! Yes I've been gone a while, been towing the camper around with the new truck. Sorry couldn't resist since you're always threatening me with that ban hammer!

Just spent an hour going through all these posts. Wow, what a mess. Everyone has supplier issues but this one is gonna leave a mark. Sure glad I ordered the Ram instead of a Dmax, or I'd be right in the middle of all this shti. And yes, I'm fully aware that FCA is recalling nearly a quarter million trucks to change out CP4 pumps. I know, what were they thinking?

So any new developments or everyone still just waiting for more details from GM?

I was at my dealer today and there were some pretty glum faces, a couple vehicles that should be on the lot - aren't (or at least hidden as I didn't see them). They knew about the recall, were tight lipped about the issue and their exposure to it. As an aside, parts told me they have some waiting 5+ months for parts on the DEF tank.

They are doing the right thing, of course getting your tonsils out is the right thing but while it's happening - you aren't happy. After it's over - you know it's the right thing, but damn the two years of stupid aren't coming to an end gracefully.

Wait didnt GM get bailed out by me/taxpayers?

I did afterall pay $80k for a truck all I ask is information about when the damn thing was built so I can monitor GM to ensure my investment isnt overlooked on a defect that was caused by GM? Maybe this is why I left working for GM 25+ yrs ago, and parked the last GM vehicle to sell for $500…Its about ethics for me, treat your customers like they are your friends, not blood for you to feed on. They will always come back, otherwise….

Guess I should have stayed with Toyota, is that what you are really trying to tell me? Come on, I am just asking for information on something I paid them handsomely for, why withhold it and charge me? Didn’t they get enough profit on my $80k truck?

In the spirit of keeping it civil, I heard back from GM...they were extremely polite and provided the information I was not able to obtain myself at no charge!!! I feel like I have a friend in GM!! No charge, great attitude and I am very much appreciative of their help!

Easy fellas, let's keep it civil.

I was caught up in the Volkswagen diesel "buyback" fiasco. I might be caught up in GM's buyback, as well. But "buyback" doesn't always mean the same thing to the consumer as it does for the manufacture. We'll have to wait and see on the GM plan, but for Volkswagen, they bought our vehicle for the market value, (read, retail Blue Book). They did hot buy it for the price paid. I try to never worry twice, so I'll just take a deep breath and wait it out.

While I’m pretty sure I’m in the clear, how does the buyback process work? Really curious how it works in todays market. Do they reimburse for taxes and after market upgrades done. Can you refuse? If you do, what does that mean? I’ve not checked KBB, but I’m guessing used my truck would probably go for 10k more than what I paid for it. Curious about the process.

Thank you for correcting me on that, I reread my first line and slapped myself, You are absolutely correctly, DMax in Moraine builds the engine, i got my wires crossed and typed the wrong name. thx

Contacted the dealer from where I bought my truck. They claim they have never heard of this issue, and I was the first to bring it to their attention.....

I contacted my saleman,he said they have heard the news, and if I am on the Vin list, then the Service Manager will be making the call to me. I told my salesman For once I hope my phone doesn,t ring from your dealership and I don,t get e-mail either. On a side note you could have your dealer go to gmauthority.com and read it for him self about the buy backs.

I got lucky and found a new truck that was to be delivered to dealer April 1-15th. Got a email from dealer on 4/15 he said that GM had ordered a stop sales and return on 700 built trucks and mine was one of them, but the silver lining was that these trucks will be built in the next 60-75 days and will be shipped to dealers ASAP. My fingers are crossed on this right now.

I am waiting for my 3500HD SRW to arrive at the dealer any day. I stopped by yesterday to see if they had an eta and to ask if they knew if my truck would be one of the recalled units.

They played dumb and said they knew nothing about the GM recalling any of the HDs. So I guess I will wait and see.

BTW this dealer has sold roughly 15 Dmax HDs in last three weeks.

My buddy has a 3500 ordered. It was built week of 2/21 in Oshawa and has been marked "in transit" and just yesterday his dealer put it on their website.
Its gonna be interesting if his is involved and even if it isn't when the hell hes gonna get it. They got about 3 weeks to get it to him otherwise hes gonna have to settle for one of the other brand trucks on a lot somewhere.

Paging @Fr0zenTundra ,
If anyone can figure it out, he can. The man has skillz. Remind me not to make him mad, he'll probably reprogram my attack drone and blow my truck up.
