I got in the mail today a letter from GMC about extended coverage.
"This letter is intended to make you aware that some 2011 model year GMC Sierra HD vehicles equipped with a 6.6L engine may have a condition where the indirect fuel injector can become stuck in the closed position or can have low flow. This condition could result in the illumination of the malfunction indicator light (MIL)."
The repair coverage is 10 years from the date the vehicle was put into service or 120,000 miles.
Let me scan it and save it as a PDF. I may exceed the file size limit and won't be able to post it. The meat of the letter was the paragraph that I posted.
I received the same letter to about my 2014 GMC Sierra 2500HD, not sure what it means though, I assume it has something to do with the DPF and the 9th injector? I don't have any of that stuff on the truck anymore lol...
I have an early 2015 LML with the issue but 14653 service bulletin says 2011-2014. That’s what the dealer keeps quoting. Why is the 2015 not included and is there an amendment out there?
