I'm getting headgaskets done...have 2 small external coolant leaks, one on each bank. I have a couple of questions....

What are good quality headgaskets? I'm installing ARP headstuds and I want a top quality headgasket. What do the big power D-max trucks use?

I called the local GM dealership for a labor only quote out of curiosity. There is a diesel guy there who knows his stuff. I like him but usually they are too expensive. I was quoted $3200 labor only. Does this sound right? I have to be honest, I was expecting a $4500 to $5000 quote.

That is a good price for labor. I believe the book time is 34 hours.-- The best gaskets are the GM. They changed the design, and the new gaskets are much better.

Merchant Auto-[site supporting vendor] has gasket kits.

Gm gaskets are what to use they have an A, B, C type system for different "styles" of the same gasket get the C gasket
