Take a look at some side by side data for emissions compliant tuning! We can get your truck running the way it should have from the factory. Let us know how we can help!

From what we have heard from the guys at PPEI their emissions compliant tunes or Street Performance Calibrations are actually reducing the number of regens and in turn aren’t using as much DEF.
They have installed an extremely high tech dyno and are continuing to monitor data to help back up their claims.
We are excited to see where this is headed as to be honest I personally was not expecting gains like this out of the gate!

Marrrkkkkkkkkkkkkk!! Glad to see ya around on here. Those are definitely some good numbers. Especially 23mpg with it a hair under 500 to the tire.

so not regening as much changes a function of the engine that happens outside of regen? With claims like that supported by there data i would say there data is garbage.

Not to start a huge debate; everyone has their opinion on whether the data right or wrong. Knowing Kory Willis and PPEI for over 10 years now, seeing their operations first hand, watching and listening to him working his ass off to help save the race industry, the data is right based on the platform and test equipment they tested with. PPEI has just recently installed a new highend dyno and a ton of additional test equipment so they can further their testing and improve their calibrations even more.

Everyone knows fuel economy is mainly based on how heavy your foot is and every truck is different.

You are right, the DEF usage isn't tied to the regen at all. That said, you can use less if the tunes are so clean.

I wish my LML got that kind of mileage! I was seeing around 14mpg stock and getting around 18.5mpg currently with a tune. I don't have a heavy foot either. Would love to be getting over 20mpg.

I understand completely. Everyone needs to remember, if you deleted your truck and used PPEI "off-road" tunes were not set up for fuel economy; because they were intended for off road use.

With their new Street Performance Calibrations, their focus changes to making them strong, responsive, even cleaner and improve fuel economy.

Completely understand where your going here. I think any and all of us are right to question the data and how it’s produced. Especially when we are spending our hard earned money based on it. Please don’t take the way I worded my response to discount the products entirely. They will continue to refine the calibrations, and I think as a whole make some huge efficiency gains to the modern emissions systems. In the mean time I think it’s important for us to ask questions as they come up to understand where the data came from and how it’s being used.

Weird cause i rememeber people getting fuel economy tunes from kory. Guess you cant have the best mpg when all your truck is used for is "off roading" 'dunno;

I understand where you guys are coming from and the direction you are headed and can appreciate it. But you cant say the reason no one has or Maybe even will experience that high of mpg is because the tunes were for "off road" use only. That was just a coined term to sell tunes under the epa noses. Which i and many others have appreciated :rofl

Maybe we are splitting hairs here but idk lol! I think where Willie was going was that the off road tunes were focused power. Fuel economy was a fantastic by product of getting rid of the restrictions that exist in the emissions systems.

That being said we did sell and request fuel economy focused “off road” tunes which to be fair they absolutely did what was advertised. I know I had two different 2500 CCSB Lmm’s go from 12 mpg to 18 hand calculated as well as my 3500 CCSB LML.

With the changes in the winds of the perception of the law we expect that due to the constraints that exist in modern emissions systems we will see more tunes focused toward different end goals. Mainly my opinion would be that the focus shift to fuel economy/fuel and emissions systems efficiencies, and overall reliability.

I guess i just have a hard time believing a 8000lb brick with 500whp gets 23mpg. Which i guess anything is possible. I am glad kory is campaigning for diesel motorsports now that he has his money tied up in it. Aka wades new toy. I know another tuner is making good strides with the new 19 cummins and its emission system. Which they are light years better than the lml systems.

I’ve reached out for more info on this! Let me see what they come back with. We may get some guys from PPEI to chime in on this thread with more technical details on the testing that they have and are continuing to preform.

Everyone knows on an emissions compliant truck an 80mi loop is no indication of “real world” mileage. F for PPEI on that one.

I am not trying to discredit anything. I have met many people that claim higher mileage that I get and many that claim lower as well. It seems LML mileage is hit or miss.

And FYI, I do not use PPEI emissions present or off road tuning. I went another route.

I find that alot of the newer diesels will get pretty decent MPG when they are new. But as time and mileage goes, and the DPF becomes more clogged with particles that do not burn out, MPG falls drastically. Perhaps cleaner running tunes would prolong or stop this from happening?

C'mon guys - bragging about mileage is no more reliable than bragging about the size of........well....let's not get too personal in here.....!

Yes, I have seen 30 mpg on mine. No wind, steady 50 in double overdrive, no load, on the level and then very gently down-sloping run from Prescott to Chino Valley here in the high country of northern Arizona. I have seen 4 mpg "pulling the grades" while towing our "toys".

My "daily driver" is a Toyota RAV 4 - consistently averages at 28 mpg. My Honda 50 got over 75 mpg. I don't have a dog-sled...but if I did....
Lol wouldn’t that be miles per kibble? At the end of the day it’s about value added. What that means from consumer to consumer varies dramatically, but I feel like we all enjoy saving money in some capacity.
