Anyone have a similar rig or guess on weight? I'm trying to match a camper up and have a S&S that's 2900 lbs wet. I've got air bags on and a GVWR rating of 9200 lbs. I think vehicle weighs about 6200 lbs, but thought I'd check here to see if anyone had similar vehicle with more of an idea on weight. I'll try to get to a scale asap. Thanks,

2006 2500 HD Crew Cab 4x4
Me, the dog, full diesel and my 5th wheel hitch

7000 lbs exactly

Front 4060
Rear 2940

The 9200 GVWR really pisses me off. The 6084 Rear GAWR is a joke (it exaclty equals the factory tires). The 06 GMC Sierra 2500HD rear Axel rating is 6900 (listed spec from GM).

I'm installing better tires on my truck this week (just picked up a new trailer). I won't post my CAT ticket from last week :)

I must have one heavy truck, cause I was just at the scrap yard last Friday and my Tare "empty" weight is 7516lb's.

I did have myself and 2 kids in the car so around 259lb's of passenger weight. So that would put me in around 7257lb's without passengers.:drink

My truck is 100% stock (except the 5er Hitch and LineX bedliner).
2006 LBZ , I don't know if the engine weight changed much.
I'm about 200 lbs, I guess there is a chance she hit the button when I was off the scale (the push button at the CAT scale is about 8' off the ground )

Alot adds to the weight of a stock. CC vs Ext Cab, Z71 package with skid plate, different type or design 5th wheel hitches. Some hitches are light and some are heavy. Our 2500hd comes in at around 76-7700 lbs with two passengers but...heavy hitch called SuperGlide 18K. Over the 9200 in a minute!! Not to worry. Truck performs excellent. Our king pin weight is 2900 lbs with our Montana.

You know, the "Factory Spec" that pisses me off the most is the GCWR. Check this out:

From the Door:

GVWR 9200
GAWR (f) 4670
GAWR (r) 6084
GCWR 22,000

From the GM Site:

Max tow rating: Diesel, Crew, 4x4, Auto, Single Rear Wheel

14,200

Let's do some math:

9200 + 14,200 = 23,600

Or better yet:

7000 + 14,200 = 21,200

How can they list the 5th Wheel tow rating at 14,200 with those other "specs"???
Do they expect me to find a 14k 5th wheel with a 800 lb pin weight??

The GVWR on this truck should be closer to 10,000 with a CGWR of at least 24,000

Well, as you and I both know, Duramax owners easily tow where the CGWR is closer to 25,000. It's crazy what I see guys with 3500 Rams tow. It's as if CGWR doesn't matter. I've seen this builder around my neighborhood that routinely pulls his D4 CAT and T-140 Bobcat on what looks like one of those 36' flatbeds. He has to be close to 35-40,000 CGWR. It does it, but I can tell he's giving it hell. Squats the piss out of that dually.

Bottom line: Those factory specs are very, very conservative and for 100% safety. Liability is a you-know-what for a large automaker.

Mine weighed in at 8,105lbs. with me in it. Thats nearly full of fuel, about 80 gallons, and tool box. I was surprised it was that heavy, I thought it would be closer to 7k. It still gets up and moves, and tows better than any other truck I've ever driven!

Just took mine to the dump today. The gross was 3250 KG (some small furniature and garbage) and the tare was 3,160KG. That is with me (190lbs and under 1/2 tank of fuel). The tare works out to be 6,966 pounds. [ECLB]

Since someone else brought this thread back...
I went to the scale with my new Toybox last month:

Me (200), hitch and full tank

Front: 4220
Rear: 3080

Total: 7300

I know I didn't gain 300 lbs ;)

I'm not sure what the spec is for the CAT Scales. If +/- 3% is within spec than that can swing the weight about 250 lbs one way to another. Something to consider.
