Lotta respect on that forum. Nice to see some humility.
Tyreboyz is on there? I didn't know he has a cummins. Gotta love it when they admit its gonna take some building to beat a d-max. But, I've seen some built cummins that are awesome.
here it is with the names off but the discussion is there
I am looking into getting an 06 cummins 6-speed shortly and doing a lot of research on modifications. I have a friend with an 03 duramax /allison withintake, exhaust, lift pump and PPE 225hp tune. His truck freakin flies. What mods would I have to do to beat him or am I very limited going with a manual instead of automatic trans?

it will take some modds but it can be done, what size truck is the Duramax?with the PPE tuning and depending what size truck he can easily see low 14's if not high 13's as is.

I would also like to add he has no trans work and from my knowledge allison trans only take 100hp more. With these mods wouldn't he be way over that. If so then his tranny will prolly go soon right? What is a good list of mods for my future cummins to win?

the thing is the Allison can still take more aftermarket HP then a Dodge tranny in stock form but your right with to much he will be upgrading the tranny but he can run the 225HP tune for a good while with out a tranny upgrade.he's in the low 14 range, not sure what it'll take to get a manual CTD to the 13's but most of it is gonna count on the driver and his ability to row gears..
