Hard to turn ignition key

I went to start my truck one afternoon and the key would not turn. I assumed that the tumblers fell and ordered a new ignition cylinder lock assy. After replaing it I still had the same problem, I have never seen a ignition switch do this before. Anyone have any experience with this before. Any help or input would be greatly appreciated.
