My heater only works on # 5 position . Last year # 1 position quit working but #2 thru # 5 worked fine . Last week they all quite except # 5 position which is high . I thought it was the switch so I pulled it apart and it looks fine . I dont see anything that can really go wrong with it . So I am wondering if maybe the heater fan is the problem ? Has anyone out there ever had this problem ?

Fill out your sig so we can see what you have first.
Then pull your switch back out and clean it all really good with a scuff pad and make sure that everything contacts clear and good. Then if thats not it time to replace the motor, but this doesnt happen very often, at least that Ive heard of.

Heater resistor sounds like it crapped out on ya. I change them allllll the time. Double check the harness to it also, sometimes those will melt also. 1999-2007 classics all had the same problem with the manual HVAC circuits.

I had the resistor go on mine, the heater controls had a mind of it's own. The resistor is located above where the passenger's feet go. It is about 4" long x 2" x 2" with an alluminum heatsink on it. The dealer I use let me run out and plug it in to make sure it was the problem. It was, $90, and has worked perfect ever since. Good luck!
