I have them for my '09. They are excellent. 7 books = ~ 16" of very thin paper with small print. They ship at 27 pounds so they run about $180 shipped. It takes about 5 days to read through them so you can figure out the basic layout of information is and how to use them quickly to research a problem.

If you can read the vehicles codes, things are very easy to test. But, if you can't read the codes, they still talk you through the basic methods of testing the circuits as well as testing most individual components. If a module has to be programmed, they tell you. Some basic programming is addressed. But, they do not tell you how to run the Tech II that they quite often get down to using for diagnosis.

I have the Helms sets for my '09, my wife's Trailblazer, and my son's S-10 - it is the factory authorized manual, contains everything about the series of vehicles covered - some of it doesn't apply to your specific truck, but everything you need is there. Complete wiring diagrams, component locators, and step by step diagnostics and R&R, literally bumper-to-bumper. If you do any mechanical work on your own, it's invaluable, and if you have work done by a dealer, you can study up on the diagnostic procedures ahead of time and ask the appropriate questions. I buy a set for each new vehicle we get, then the set goes with the vehicle when we trade it.

helmsinc.com

from what ive gathered it covers just one year but it covers ALL VERSIONS for that year

so as far as im aware i will be getting a manual that covers Silverado/Sierra 1500-3500 SC/SB-CC/LB 5.3L 6.0L 6.6L 8.1L etc with every interior package (WT LS LT)

this is very possible because i got the shipping info and its a 22LB shipment!

I've got the helms manual for my 01. it's very good, but the only thing that pissed me off is that the 5 volume set that you order standard for it does NOT include the 6th volume which is the electrical systems. I got lucky and found my last volume on ebay for 15 bucks, but they wanted around 60 for it through helms. that's my only complaint about them at all. if you're spending 150 for the manual, they should give you the WHOLE manual for that.

In the manual for my truck, the electrical schematics were interspersed with the system content. This is very handy. Also, for the '09, it ships at 26.5 pounds and is seven volumes. Right around 16" of very thin paper with small print. Now, all I need ia a Tech II! :)

I just got mine yesterday and WOW! anything you want to know and some stuff you didn't know you wanted to know. A great investment and WELL worth the money. Man, they (5 Volumes) are awesome.
