Just bought a 2008 2500HD CCSB with 24900 on it and has a set of nice 18" wheels and 275/65/18 Mickey Thompson ATZ tires on it. Almost new. Truck at 47 to around 54 mph has a very noticible shimmy from rear end of truck. Tires have been balanced 3 times, as well as rotated all 3 times but truck still shimmies at those speeds from the rear of truck. Checked u Joints. Any help because We can't figure out problem or what to do for it. Brakes on or off,, does not matter. Any suggestions?????????:help

get the truck up to that speed and put it neutral if the shimmy goes away it's in the driveline. Where the tires checked for a broken belt.

Thats not exactly a stone cold way to determine it. If it goes away in neutral at highway speed its most likely a U-joint, if it doesn't go away it still could be a driveshaft imbalance issue. Check for any small dents in the driveshaft, and look to see if appears to be missing a balance weight.
