well i just towed my buddys sami on a super heavy trailer that should have had trailer brakes but didnt it pushed me down hills lke crazy but o well but i just installed a lift pump on my truck an notice welll towing my egts r way higher is it due tioo the lift pump i was prolly towin 6 to 8 k lbs just a guesss

what were ur egt's? and for how long did u hold it there, i hold 1325 for about 7 miles up a big hill around here towing 6k..

Installing a lift pump isnt going to make you run higher egt's it's your right foot.

ok hell the trailer i was towing was like 4 k the sami only was like 2 it sucked backing up that thing on ice my truck slide every where

My rule to myself was anything less than 1200. Yes, they "can" go over 1250, but it's not going to be good for it, I dont care what garrett says, garrett wont be warrentying your pistons when you crack them due to high egt's. Higher rpm's means cooler temps.

Slow down, drop a gear and take your time. Went to flag this weekend and egt's topped out at 800 max with all the hills.

were u empty and what was ur top speed...sun set hill is the hill im talking bout doing 72 up it towing 6k ....with edge set on tow mode, its right around 1280 1320

Ehh kinda, I was hauling a motor and 2 30 gallon propane tanks up there so maybe 600 lbs in the bed. mph was 75 on cruise the whole way in 5th gear. I hardly ever use 6th. Try towing on stock setting, you will see a difference
