Wow... these cost more than gold ! Sent box out for repair and the company said board was unusable ! They make and sell boards for many applications but not GM...great
I'm just floored at the prices of a used box. Anywhere from 2500-9999 !!

Anyone have a source for the PC board for an LLY ?

Thanks

you can try Hicksville auto recyclers. They specialize in Duramax trucks

My truck is still in the shop. I asked the guy if they find it is in fact a bad FICM will they be able to get this part. He said they have suppliers that have them. Not cheap though. I'm figuring on at least a couple of thousand.

I have also been looking at new trucks. A couple of local dealers I spoke with yesterday about 2500HDs and 1500s, both chevy and GMC said prices are MSRP and some add a "market premium" to that. One nice 2022 1500 GMC AT4 they actually have in stock is $65000 including the market premium. One salesman told me every truck they have in transit is already sold. Doesn't sound like the best time to be buying a new truck.

I know what you guys are going thru. When I paid 2200 for my ficm I damn near had heart problems. Thinking how the hell is one item that expensive? I’ve been there. Keep thinking is it worth it to keep fixing it. Here my 2 cents. Once you figure out your issue, add it up. I bet it’s cheaper then the on average yearly. 600-800 month new truck payment. When the truck ran good did you ever have the thought of getting a new one? Not me l. As soon as I had issues yup I’ve thought about it. But then I’m like I own it. It’s mine…. I have the title. My yearly maintenance is cheaper then a new rig… good luck boys. I hope you fix them. And once you do, I hope you drive the shit outta them. I know I do….

You are right, you can pay for lots of repairs cheaper than $80,000 for a new truck. I really can't complain about having a somewhat expensive repair on my 17 year old truck. It has been a great truck still looks like it did the day I bought it. I'm most likely going to keep it, but I was already thinking about getting a new truck just because I want a new truck every once in a while. I am really leaning towards a new GMC 1500 AT4 with the 6.2 engine maybe later this summer when more inventory starts showing up and keeping the old duramax for towing my 5th wheel.

I've used that logic as well...Just hate to give up looking for the Unicorn :D:D,

I did and they know exactly what they have !! I will keep my eye out for a spare box now that I know whats up. Also going to look up on how to convert the fuel controller to a more advanced design (If possible)
Thanks

I am going through the same thing. Sent my lly ficm out to rebuild and they said my board was bad. Now i am stuck looking a ficm and having no luck. I really love my truck and wish I could find one soon or up grade fuel system to something better. If anyone has any info on something better please respond thanks

Found a video where a guy took the ficm apart and found a capacitor burned up on the circuit board. Apparently in this case that was blowing the fuse. Looks like some of the boards are not damaged much and can be repaired The one in the video had a big hole burned in it and probably not repairable. If my repair shop guy doesn't let me know something pretty soon I'm gonna have my truck towed to my house. I have learned enough about this problem now I think I can figure it out and maybe fix it I've been working in the electronics / electrical field for 46 years.

If you can get any information off the capacitor you might be able just to find it and resolder it in. As long as everything is ok. I do this at work a lot with encoders on stepper drives. Also guys look at the for sale boards here. I’ve seen a few threads with ficms….

I bought all the capacitors for my LLY ficm and will be replacing them before the original caps leak out and burn up my circuit board. the caps costed me about $10 and a little soldering time and I'll get another 15 yrs out of my ficm. FICMrepair.com wants $1500 to repair a LLY ficm. Other electronic shops want $300+. IF you can catch the issue before the original caps leak everywhere and destroy the board than its a very easy fix, if you have soldering skills.

Was your ficm blowing the fuse? If so, I would get an ohm meter and check all those electrolytic (blue ) capacitors and see if any are shorted. I have a feeling these non-repairable boards are probably the ones they can't visibly see a problem. Not everyone will have the test equipment and knowledge required to test and repair complex boards with surface mount micro-chips.

It is hard to be sure, but it looks like the solder joints have been messed with on the 2 larger blue caps.

I'm guessing there are probably a few common fail modes that they have figured out how to fix. After looking at a picture of the board I can tell you some of those surface mount ICs are not easily replaced Good luck on your part.
I'm still waiting on my shop guy. Talked to him today and he still says he can get the part if he finds out that's the problem on my truck. Supposed to get it back in their shop today.
