I was hauling hay then I got low rail pressure codes and could smell fuel. Looking under the truck it was dumping fuel like a water hose at the back of the engine. To load it up you have to prime the fuel filter pump and it doesn't want to go much over idle. 06 chevy lbz

so you have a fuel leak. can you narrow down where it's coming from?

If you have not had any work done recently and its running down the back of the engine its probably coming form the lifter valley area. Most likely is due to a leaking injection pump. I have seen it a few times at the shop but its hard to verify without moving stuff and using a mirror sometimes.

the truck i am doing head gaskets on seems to be doing the same thing. it looks like its coming from the sensor on the side of the block just in front of the oil filter assembly
