I just purchased a 2009 C5500 and it has an idle shutdown feature. I must eliminate this feature because I need to idle the truck for up to an hour.
What is the procedure for doing this. Someone told me that I must install a PTO switch and have the ECM flashed to recognize the switch.
I was also told that a jump wire installed on the brake pedal switch will eliminate the idle shutdown.

idle shutdown has to be turned off by the tech2 scan tool. the pto switch is usless to have unless you have a pto and having the ecm flashed to reconize the swtich is kinda pointless. just have them turn it off. and check to see if they can turn high idle on, high idle should run off the cruise control switchs
