I am kinda new to duramax repair. But lately have done more and more. Can someone tell me how a injector cup leak can cause coolant to get into the exhaust( which is what i read in some posted answers on here about coolant being in the exhaust). I have never got that far into one. My Duramax 2006 LBZ has no overpressurization in the cooling system, new water pump, new egr cooler, new egr, new thermostats, new hoses, and new glow plugs. Injectors were done about 50,000 miles ago by dealer. Never runs hotter than 195. Pressure tests okay, chemical tests good, all glow plugs same color, runs with no misses and lots of power. 268,000 miles.
Problem is.... after all that.... i smell coolant coming from tailpipe. After it sets, 50% of the time on start up it has steam out tailpipe for 30 seconds. No leaks but using a quart of coolant every 50-100 miles. ????? What the heck. Searching all possible causes. So asking about the injector problem. Help. At a loss.
