what kind of intakes do you guys run???

o yeah, what kind of air filter?

AFE stage II with AFE air filter not the pro guard. The filter and intake are great and feel awesome!

IMO just get the stage 1.. the "torque tube" is pointless for an extra $100.

but dont the stage 2 outputs more hp and tq?

stage 2 claims it puts out 50 hp and 100 tq where is the stage 1 claims it puts out 25 hp and 35 tq.

so wouldnt stage 2 be better?

When I removed the stock tube I compared it to the new AFE tube and they are almost identical! Im sure that if you add a bigger turbo and some new injectors it MIGHT make a little difference but nothing real noticable.

Of course AFE will Claim there more expensive product puts out more but in reallity there isnt a big difference.

Most of the time I run the AFE Stage II with the proguard 7 filter with a prefilter on it. Right now I have the stock intake on because I have been driving dirt roads a lot. I switch back and forth depending on the driving I will be doing. I figure if I have to drive nearly 200 miles on a dirt road, I might as well clog up a paper filter and protect my engine the best that I can.

cant you have the afe intake (360 cone) with a box around it like a stock intake?

not on the LB7 engine. Also, the stock filter is far superior on filtering than the any aftermarket one is. It is just piece of mind for me after reading the spicer air filter study.
