Hello.

Introduce myself
I found this board to change my injectors on my 2001 Duramax LB7 130k Crew cab long bed SLT.

My injectors have been bad for a year. Dealer wouldn't warranty, as I have exceeded my 7 year time limit.
Of course they want $4500 for the injector job.

I can't afford that.
I"m going to do the job myself, on Monday or Tuesday.March 1

Dura titus posted a DIY. Thanks.
I'll let Y'all know how it went.

Right now my fuel rails are leaking, my one week old oil change has been displaced by diesel fuel. Truck running very low oil pressure.
Wish me luck. I have over 40 years mechanic expertise, but I have never done this job before, it looks pretty straight forward.

I put twin Volvo Diesels TAMD 42's in my commercial boat about 8 years back, solo.

Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the Forum!!!

Good luck on the Injector replacement.
Welcome to the DF

Its a pretty simple job, just time consuming getting everything out of the way. The main this is just make sure you use new injector return seals and o-rings to prevent fuel leaks. Where are you getting the injectors from?
welcome to the DF!
Thanks everyone.
I may get injectors from Silvera Buick in Healdsburg CA, or City Chevrolet in San Diego.
If neither can make mangageable price, will try Alligator New BOsch.for $240ea.
The core charge is a killer though.
I do plan to ask Dealer for ALL orings, banjo washers and seals to do the job right.
Thanks everyone.

You might wanna talk with em....very nice guys over at alligator....maybe they will let you send your old ones to em first and you wont have the pay the core charge...

Food for thought.
Thank you, Mr. Manners.
I just drained the diesel fuel from my crankcase to buy a couple more days before my Injector R&R thanks to Dura titus.
5 gallons of diesel fuel, truck was running on freeway at 10 to 20 psi.
put in 2.5 gallons of Motor oil
Initial 60 psi then 40psi on freeway.
I'm still wearing eau de diesel after my bath. Oil change was a little exhuberant.

Hope to get a few hundred miles commuting to work before injector change.
I guess bearings are still okay if instant increase in oil pressure.

Wish me luck guys.
Thanks for the support.
I will have to upgrade my membership to show gratitude.
