Just paid over $1000 to have a new injector installed. Now dealership says they found metal shavings in fuel. They want $3000 to replace IP. Sound right anyone. BTW just called another dealership they will do IP for $2300....already $700 difference.
I guess it is CP3...after reading a bunch of posts on here it sounds like the same thing. Not sure about shavings...I will find out. Also they said they are brass. The other dealership said they don't believe it is the Injector pump....he said he replaced 1 in 6 years????
on the phone now about shavings...on hold of course. He said it runs fine but has a small amount of black smoke but had before hand. Said it was "around fuel filter". Just got off the phone. Now he doesn't seem so sure that it is IP
I told him that I didn't think it was IP and he said that the tech could only figure that was where the shavings came from. I said I thought it might even be from a tank of fuel. He agreed and said maybe just try a new fuel filter then again in 5-6000 miles or so.
if youre worried about filtration for your injectors do a AD2 since itll do more for ya in the long run
