Hello
I have a 06 Duramax.
My 8th digit is a 2 so it’s the LLY. I did search for the forum but some are so old the pictures don’t load anymore.

I have a zf6 manual trans.

I’m running a cts 3 edge programmer and I added 3” downpipe and 5” exhaust

anyway, is this a LBZ turbo mouth piece?

Also any difference with it being manual transmission from the 06 LBZ? I did see the difference in HP 310/360.
but overall I should be safe to tune this vehicle to performance mode since it has the LBZ engine which would handle it better then the 05 LLY.

thanks

Dont get hung up on the "2". You have the exact same truck as the LBZ. It is unclear why the early 06 models got the LLY designation. The 04-05 LLY is a very different animal. Yes you already have the LBZ plumbing. Yes the ZF6 is detuned, but dont remember how much. If you tune it, just don't tow heavy on grades with cruise control.

You have an LBZ/ZF6 combo- very rare as they were only labeled as ‘LLY’ for early 2006 and after the updated emissions results got approved they no longer offered the LBZ with a manual transmission. I’d sure like to have a ccsb LBZ/ZF6 combo, almost went after one about 15yrs ago but at the time I didn’t want to go that far for it. Seems like a pretty minor trip today for my standards, it seems

I’m glad it’s a LBZ, I thought it was initially but didn’t check with the vin when I first bought it. Then I checked and thought LLY I was pretty let down to be honest.

I’m adding egt sensor next week to see how everything is working with the programmer set to “ performance “ which brings it up to roughly 380 HP from 310 HP.

but thanks for confirming it and thanks to this page!

As others have said the 2006 LLY is same as the later LBZ. Just tuned differntly.
