Can you run JP8 military grade fuel in my 2008 Duramax Diesel? Did you need to add fuel additives to it to be able to put this in your Duramax?

Umm... I don't think so. If I'm not mistaken but those are not low sulfur fuel and it usually runs on the older diesels. High sulfur fuels can cause the DPF to plug up and fail prematurely.

Nope...JP-8 is high in sulfer content.....I did some looking I think JP-8 is around 2800 ppm.....I cant guarantee the exact accuracy of that amount however our trucks require ULSD I think 10 ppm. Big egr and dpf problems...

You can be able to run it as long you delete the DPF and eliminate the EGR system but other than what you have right now in stock form, not recommended.

JP-8 is a very very highly refined diesel and running it straight can damage your engine... your best bet is to run it in a 50/50 JP-8/pump diesel or 2/3 JP-8/pump diesel mixture... or add 2 stroke oil too it... I know a few people running it... one guy on his ford and he knows all about what you have to do....

Ridin'GMC and DunesRunner08 are right.
I use to work for an FBO here in OKC and our machinest had a agreement with the company he would get all of our sump fuel. He would mix 2stroke oil in it........he had a old mid 80's chevy 1ton with a 4 or 6 cyl detroit he put in it.........he made out like a bandit he'd get about a 1000 gallons every 3 or so months
