Got the truck offloaded today

Went ahead and mowed the area down pretty good to buy some time

Got the rear on the ground and drove forward while working the winch

Used the rust bucket batteries to work the winch

Really need to get my quick connect setup for the winch done!

Lmao, no way!

Factory fresh for me :)

40s would be too small, but if I got a hold of Joker he might school me on the old bodies fitting big tires...sort of like tinkerbell!

Plan? I have a 1996 that looked similar to that at one point.
Truck hasn't ran in probably 5 years

Right now since I'm not in a rush I'm going to wash the exterior and clay bar it all.

I clay barred an 8" square area on the hood that was rough and it cleaned it right up so first things first is detail the best I can to the paint, inner fender wells, wheels and tires.

Probably going to order new headlights, parking lights aren't cracked and the tails might just need some clay barring as well

Going to call about getting the windshield replaced, and I'll pull the window tint as well since it's got a little bubble action going on

Then clean up the best I can under the hood...I'm weird, I like working with a clean slate....sort of like my LML, it's dirty, but I have all the pieces to go back to chrome front and rears though I want to wash it first :)

Then it's going to be me pulling my gantry crane out of the garage, if it'll tip and pull outwards since it's tall, pull the bed up, drag truck forward, and clean the fuel lines and tank, TB, and do like TexasRedneck said and squirt some mystery oil in the spark plug holes, drain the oil, get a battery, replace air cleaner, different fluids, etc etc, and get it running

Once it's running I can drive it and see what it's doing then diagnose from there.

Last he said he was cruising down the highway, wait, I'll just copy his text:

(*****) It has been parked since that last trophy delivery it did. It was coming back from bastrop. No funny noises, just wouldn't grab the power coming from the engines output shaft. That's why I'm thinking torque converter or its clutch, if over revved it slipped, light throttle would maintain , got progressively worse. By time got onto 2920 from 290 could only manage 20 mphs.

It's been started a few times and driven around the yard and it ran fine. So whatever it is isn't broken.(******)

----------

Then it's possibly 4 links, SAS, and 49s or something. What does your truck look like now?

AirRideOfCourse

Sort of like this, but when it comes time to get tire's and wheels since that's first then we can decide. There are multiple plces around here that sell medium to high tread life used tires from military vehicles for dirt cheap, like 40"+ for like 400 bucks mounted and balanced

Once tires are figured out the suspension will be built around that, ride height, etc

But then again who knows, my cousin might get so busy working on his truck, and two other vehicles that he might not have time for it, and it might just get cleaned up with a simple big lift on tires idk

You know my style, I won't know until it happens

This hood picture is showing the area that I clay barred, give me some time and I'll do the entire truck!

Then possibly have a painter friend come buff it

Wires hanging down under dash are from the EQ he had installed

He swapped it out with the air vent that's from his 99 Tahoe

I just need to chase wires and remove them and long term, install a CD player

Subbed.

Would be nice to be able to find them that clean up here. Dad has my old 98 k1500, just had rockers and cab corners, new bed and repainted and it isn't near that clean.
