Where would be the best place to hook into a key on power wire. I tried one of the fuses under the hood which had key on power and was dead at key off. And the truck did strange things with this wire hooked up. So where is the best place to hook into ignition power.

i need two items hooked up. One is an auxillary fuel tank power feed it pulls 5 amps no big deal.. The other is the key on power control for the relay that controls my newly installed talon air ride suspension compressor. The compressor pulls about 36 amps.....
