Figuring at 250 days a year, 10 hours a day it should pay for itself in about 18 months.
Where is the savings? Running it instead of idling the truck, I assume? Seems like wear and tear would make the payoff even faster, though hard to quantify accurately...

I almost got to design an APU for a tank. That'd have been cool... Aaah well.

Hope you don't crank it to hard right and crush your cooling fan?

Yup, it burns about a 10th as much fuel as the truck.

I always thought the lil big rigs were cool.
I saw a guy a few years back who had a Peterbilt cab and hood on a pickup frame with a step side box behind it, came out super clean.

Oddly satisfying restoring my old trailer.

2 gallons of rustoleum put 2 thick coats on all visible areas and one on the frame. I’d be curious how long it will last but won’t find out since trailer will be sold or traded off.

Neck looks pretty boring with out the pin stripping. I think I’ll try my hand at replicating the original and may plasma cut the load Max logo rather than get new stickers.

I hate shit like that. Even new LED brake lights are too bright.

Saw this in Gatlinburg Tennessee today. Dude put yellow vinyl on his mirrors to make it look like 2015+ mirrors.

What’s affixed to the inside of the rear window?

Kind of a long interview. The man has had the same truck for 57 years.

Sorenson trucking in Chehalis still has the original 50s Mack the owner stared the company with. The old guy still uses it when he takes a trailer somewhere to drop it. No one else is allowed to move it let alone drive it. Including his sons.

BBQ RULES

(1) The woman buys the food.
(2) The woman makes the salad, prepares the vegetables, and makes dessert
(3) The woman prepares the meat for cooking, places it on a tray along with the necessary cooking utensils and sauces, and takes it to the man who is lounging beside the grill – beer in hand.
(4) The woman remains outside the compulsory three-meter exclusion zone where the exuberance of testosterone and other manly bonding activities can take place without the interference of the woman.

Here comes the important part:

(5) THE MAN PLACES THE MEAT ON THE GRILL.
(6) The woman goes inside to organize the plates and cutlery.
(7) The woman comes out to tell the man that the meat is looking great. He thanks her and asks if she will bring another beer while he flips the meat.
(8) THE MAN TAKES THE MEAT OFF THE GRILL AND HANDS IT TO THE WOMAN.
(9) The woman prepares the plates, salad, bread, utensils, napkins, sauces, and brings them to the table.
(10) After eating, the woman clears the table and does the dishes.

And most important of all:

(11) Everyone PRAISES the MAN and THANKS HIM for his cooking efforts.
(12) The man asks the woman how she enjoyed ‘her night off ‘, and, upon seeing her annoyed reaction, concludes that there’s just no pleasing some women.
