I was unfortunate enough to have a pump problem. I noticed from the day I bought it there was a faint diesel smell always and it was significantly worse during regen. I drove it for 6k miles and wanted to take it in for a free oil change. While I was setting up an appointment over the phone I decided to crawl under the truck while telling the service manager about it and it was coated with fuel. I took it in and they found the hpfp to be leaking from the housing, so they had to call and talk to tech support as the part was on restriction. They got the pump ordered and it showed up the next day but not the required fuel lines. They then waited for 2 1/2 weeks for the lines to show up which finally came in direct from the people that make them for gm. The dealer did an excellent job and kept me in the loop. The biggest problem I had with it is waiting for parts, what a pain on a brand new truck. But again the dealer was excellent, they also gave me a brand new z71 1/2 ton to drive while mine was down.

Hopefully I have the "revised" pump now.

Had my first CEL come on a couple days ago.

Took my truck to the dealership on Wednesday 4/26/17 and they still have it as of today waiting on a special replacement NOX Sensor they said that has to be approved from GM. Not what I wanted to hear for my first ever Diesel with only 2,480 miles on it.:frown2::frown2:

Chances are u will have the revised one. But new engine. New fuel system. New controllers. This is part of first model year.

Anyone know what the changes to the pump are yet?

I think mainly the impeller side has larger fins. And the housing is slightly larger over all.

Do you think this is something it's going to be recalled at some point?

For he injection pumps? Did they recalled the lml? It's samething as cp4 failures rate is low so they won't do anything crazy like that. Costs to much. Special policy or something.

Picked up a 2017 2500 Denali monday and with less than 100 miles i got CEL. Called Onstar to check code and it was emissions related P24B1. Anyone one have any info on this one? Was told by Onstar i had 7 days to get it checked out and scheduled a dealer visit.

The emissions standards on the 2017 MY is way tighter than the lml. As the bricks get saturated or used for the first little while. Engine lights can happen. The gas engines do it more frequently. Unless it filled the exhaust system with oil. Than there might be issues.

For those items that show as "GM Engineering is aware of this concern and is working on a resolution", can you let us know when they have a resolution? I'm thinking of ordering a 2018 but would like to know that they've resolved these issues before I do.

I don't think i need to post what is said in the bulletins, it explains itself, so getting parts will be easier now that they have stock, really the restriction was just to build up parts.

Im in the same boat! I was gonna get a 17 but Ill wait and get an 18. I hear that by Late 17 early 18 they should have the major issues sorted. Just don't want to be stuck with a lot of problems. I expect a few with this new remodel but im hopeful it will be much less in 18 than early 17. Thanks mebob2001 for the very helpful information!!!

Just buy it. These forums are a VERY SMALL percentage of issues. These trucks are driving daily WITHOUT issue.

Everywhere I go with my beast I get comments like it's a Ferrari or something. People love my rig.

100% MY truck has been flawless. My only issue is how they came from factory programed to shift the transmission.

I see a lot of people comment on the shifting personally I love it. As far as my truck goes I have had zero issues.i have been driving it back and forth to work and I am at 970 miles.the one thing I thought was a good idea was the factory bed rails now after finding out my expensive Reese is no good I'm not so sure it was
