LBZ Duramax Stolen

As the title says my 2006 LBZ Duramax was stolen in Los Angeles county in front of my house. I had no gps on the vehicle unfortunately, and I know it's going to be a parts truck. I had just bought of Facebook marketplace 2 weeks ago, and it's already gone. I love GM products, these older style trucks but I don't see myself buying them anymore.

That sucks! Also, the red DuramaxDiesel door badging identifies the truck as an earlier (2004.5-2005) LLY...

It's a 2006 LLY vin 2 with the LBZ engine.
Sorry but ALL 2006 LLY/LBZ had this door badge... The red diesel door badge says it's a 2005. You're not the first person who bought a "2006 LLY" that was actually a 2005...

Sorry Rob, but he is correct on that one- early 2006 trucks that were vin coded as LLY had the early badge on them like the LB7/LLY trucks did. The new style badge was for LBZ-vin-coded and later

That sucks dude, I thought you just had a post about just purchasing that truck very recently!!

Sorry your Duramax was stolen, its a good looking truck. I'm new to this forum, I have a 2007 Classic Sierra 2500 HD 4WD Crew Cab SLT Duramax that I bought new in late 2006. I will now look into a GPS tracker, again sorry for your loss.
I would put money that the seller had a key and sells it and steals it back just to sell again.

You had the engine torn apart for a head gasket repair. How did they steal it?! Thieves rolling around in a tow truck now?!

That sucks dude, but it sounds to me like it was something more than petty theft.

I have a 2006 GMC with the LBZ. You can kinda see the white truck in the photo. I'm doing a head gasket job on that truck, so I bought the Chevy 3500 on May 6 of this year to be able to get around. The 06 GMC has been stolen twice from the same spot where the Chevy was parked. I don't think I'll ever see the Chevy again. I did have full coverage and the insurance adjuster will be calling tomorrow. Worst part is that I had just done all the fluid changes and filled it up with a full tank of diesel.

I really doubt it, I messaged him to see if the truck had LoJack or gps tracker and he said it didn't have any of that. He did tell me that it had full coverage and hadn't cancelled it. So if my insurance doesn't work out I'll use his.

Gotcha. That sucks man. Sorry to hear it. One thing I can't stand in this world is a thief! Can't say much more than that due to Forum Rules.

Front end also identifies it as an LB7 or LLY along with the red badging; LBZ's had the better looking cat eye front end where the grill is paint matched between the headlight housings

His has the correct hood but incorrect grille. I am assuming someone hit something and swapped the grille. You can see the massive gap from the hood.
My money still says the seller "up-sold" a 2005 LLY as a 2006 for increased value. It happens more often than you would think...

The vehicle was hit in the front and had its bumber and grill replaced.

Tough crowd. Remind me to never spend $10 replacing badges and then post pictures on here.

Wow, such a beautiful truck. My GMC is sitting waiting on parts. Just dropped the heads today at the machine shop. I'm not letting a truck being stolen bring my life down. I'm more upset about leaving my glasses, vxdiag, leather seat cover and wasting time and money at the DMV. But I'm over it. I'll never buy another truck in California.
