So I found another very clean LBZ in graystone metallic that fits my criteria, but I have a problem. I was going to go look at it, but they updated the listing description to say this; "sold as-is, excessive blowby." Now, I still really like the truck, but what I want to know, is the motor rebuild going to be worth it? I am going to assume cracked pistons, so I want to figure out how much a rebuilt motor would set me back. I would be willing to buy it and rebuild the motor, as long as I can get it cheap enough. I would obviously want to upgrade the pistons while in there so it doesn't happen again. And being as it is the internals, I do not trust myself enough to do the work, so I would have to have a shop do it. All that being said, what would be some ideas of how much the rebuild would set me back?

Really! I am in the same area. My local shop would do it for you. Not sure on the pricing tho.
What's the name of the shop? I might call a few shops and see if they can give me a quote. I don't want to get in over my head.
