Just picked up a 2019 Chevy LTZ 2500HD, I am coming from a 2014 GMC Sierra 2500HD. I ended up removing the new LED bulbs I had in the Sierra and was hoping I could just pop them into the Chevy. I tried to search it on the forum and found some info on the LED but it seems as most are going with HID. It looks like these trucks have a cap that goes over the bulb housing, so I would assume there is going to be no way of fitting the LED which has the fan on it it this housing with installing the cap back on. I would be worried about leaving the cap off as I would imagine dirt would get in the housing. I have read about also adding a canbus for the LED lights as they could cause codes on the truck?

Thanks

Higher end leds are integrated canbus and won’t flicker. As for the dust cap, on my wife's terrain, I ordered two new ones from gmpartsdirect and hole sawed a 3” hole then took pvc endcaps and used marine caulk adhesive to seal it up. It will allow for the fans and fit factory.

Sounds good, did you drill any small holes in the PVC cap to allow for ventilation for the fan or is it alright completely sealed?
