I keep reading that I need a lift pump even with a cp3 conversion. My question is why? What is different on the lml vs my lbz that would require a lift pump (even with the cp3 conversion). My lbz went 200k with zero issues so I am having trouble seeing the need for the lift pump if I do the conversion??? Help me see why!

You dont need one. Just like you dont need one for a cp4 pump since there are plenty of trucks out there that are bome stock that have no issues.

But it definitely doesnt hurt. Makes the tiny "lift" pump on the back of the cp3s life easier. And adds another layer of water separation and fuel filtration.
