Ok so ive been doing some searching and i see that the lbz for flows more and maybe holds more pressure that a lly fpr. My question is which one holds up better. I have a 04.5 lly with 270k and my truck has been doing the surging about 100rpms at idle since around 240k i know its the fpr but im wondering why it sticks like that. Is it a factory defect? I only ask because i dont want to change it and 50k later its doing it again. It seems to be a lly problem as i have not seen near as many lbzs doing the surge at idke so i was thinking maybe the lbz fpr would be a better fix since ill be changing it anyways.

Truck mods are: banks ram air, egr delete, 5" straight pipe, efilive.

I was told to stay with the LLY fpr. Had to do with the specs and how the ecm controlled it. With that said, I am not sure if adjustments could be made in EFIlive to compensate for it.
Best price I found for the lly fpr was @ summit racing. it was about $112 OE bosch.

I found both of them for about the same price 110$ and 112 i know for a fact the lbz flows better and that all you have to do is load the lbz fpr table and it will run as its supposed to. I just dont ever want the fpr to do the idle surge ever again. Talked to my tuner and he said its easy to change the table over. I just think if the lbz is an upgrade too why not lol id like to hear from someone that the lbz fpr is longer lasting lol

Incorrect. Either can be commanded to run 26k.

The lbz flows marginally more, and requires a simple table change in your tune for it to run correctly.
