1) If I were going to replace the stock filter, I would find one at the junkyard, if t all possible. And I would clean the MAF and try a dry filter, or no filter for a short time to see if situation continues.
Are these codes the currently active codes, or just codes that came up? If not current, I would erase all of them and see what pops up now. I don't have full definition of the u% codes, but that means that the different modules (computers) in your truck aren't talking to each other. That is always the first thing I would go after, the u% codes.
I am surprised that GM thinks you need a new turbo, and I wouldn't argue with them about that.
