I have had suicidal thoughts of late and they are 100% due to the number of threads regarding LML grease fittings. In an effort to save my own life and clear up a complicated math problem, I went outside today, the warmest day in a long time (-24° C). While outside, I snapped pictures of the nine (9) grease fittings.

For my reference pictures, I used my 2011 Sierra 3500 CC/LB/DRW/LML

Driver side, Upper Ball Joint


Driver side, Lower Ball Joint


Driver side, Outer Tie-Rod End


Pitman arm - centerlink joint (the grease fitting is on top of the joint)


Idler arm - centerlink joint (the grease fitting is on top of the joint)


Upper idler arm pivot (the fitting points toward the driver's side of the truck)


Passenger side, Upper Ball Joint


Passenger side, Lower Ball Joint


Passenger side, Outer Tie-Rod End



This is where the confusion comes from. Pictured below, is the passenger side inner tie-rod end. Both the passenger side and driver side inner tie-rod ends are non-greasable. This effectively removes two (2) of the previous eleven (11) grease points. I have checked with NASA and their mathematical engineering department is certain that 11-2 = 9. Nine grease points.
